English Pronunciation

This program is for people whose first language is other than English. The program covers pronunciation, oral reading, and oral presentation.

  • Students learn how to produce the sounds, intonation and rhythm patterns of English.
  • Results are improved ability to speak English clearly, and improved professional and social communication.
  • Clients report that the techniques also help them better understand English speakers.

How do I know the program is for me?

  • Can you read and write English, but want to improve your spoken English?
  • Would you like to speak more clearly and be better understood?
  • Do you sometimes have difficulty being understood over the telephone?
  • Do people ever ask, "Please say that again", "Can you repeat that, please?"
  • Has anyone ever said, "I'm sorry, I didn't understand you"?
  • Do difficulties with pronunciation get in the way of your communication?

If you answer "Yes" to any of the above, then this program is for you.

There are many places to learn English - what is different about this program?

  • This program is designed for people who know English, but want to speak English more clearly.
  • It is specifically for adults who have competency in writing and reading skills, but need to communicate more effectively when they speak.
